Market Recommendation: How about a Naanwich?

Weird name but all I have to say, Wow ... I mean it, Wow! Found it recently in the frozen section at Whole Foods, this is one of those products that I scourer grocery stores for. Named after an Indian bread (Naan), this is a vegetarian bread wrap / sandwich (hence the word Naan-wich) stuffed with potatoes, carrots, and peas with Indian spices.

This is an amazing find not just because of the product but also because of the brand. After I tried this one I checked out the maker's website and found some other pretty great offerings. Though I am still searching the stores where they sell their fresh deli Channa Masala Naanwich.

Official Name: Sukhi's NaanWich Garden Vegetable

Price: $2.99

Twist Time

Today's twist features Tamarind Sauce! Usually available at Indian Stores, you can also find it at grocery stores such as Harris Teeter. Simple and easy way to enjoy this is to microwave for 2 minutes. This though makes the bread soggy. Therefore, right after microwaving, use a griddle or a flat pan to heat the Naan so its no longer soggy. Open the bread fold slightly to pour in 1 tbsp of Tamarind Sauce (keep it cool in the refrigerator) along with finely chopped 1/2 fresh tomato. Try with a light beer. A quick and simple summer lunch!
